Search in English, Korean, or chat shorthand

You don't have to dig through categories. Type a word you feel into the search box and matching suggested emoji appear at the top. English keywords, Korean keywords and common shorthand all work in one box.

How search works (data sources)

About 1,900 emoji are searchable through three merged keyword sources.

  • Unicode English annotations (emojibase en) + emojilib — labels, tags and slang like 'dog', 'fire', 'lol', 'sparkles'.
  • Unicode Korean annotations (emojibase ko) — Korean labels and tags so Korean words work too.
  • Curated intent map — common intents and chat shorthand that no public dataset carries, added by hand.

If your word partially matches a keyword, the emoji shows in suggestions. Popular intents are ordered so common emoji come first.

Combine basket — build your own divider

Turn on the Combine button next to the search (it turns blue) and each tap adds the symbol to the box above. You can type your own text and spaces too, build something like ˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ and grab it all with Copy. Turn Combine off to go back to tap-to-copy.

Favorites & recent — where are they stored?

Press the on a symbol to pin it to Favorites; copied symbols build up in Recent. Both are stored only in your device's localStorage and never uploaded. Clearing your browser data removes them.

Common mistakes
  • Symbols showing as a box (□) — the font where you paste doesn't support that glyph. Rare decorative characters and some kaomoji render differently per device.
  • Blank nicknames — blank space characters are allowed differently per game/SNS and may be rejected. If one type fails, try another.
  • Confusing with fancy fonts — 𝓢𝓬𝓻𝓲𝓹𝓽 / 𝐁𝐨𝐥𝐝 style conversion is in the text tools set, not here.
  • Hashtag matching — text with special characters isn't matched by SNS search/hashtags. Use plain letters in body and tags.

Frequently asked questions

Can I search emoji by a word?
Yes. Each emoji carries keyword annotations (labels and tags from the Unicode CLDR data), so typing 'party', 'dog', 'weather' or 'money' surfaces matching emoji. A curated intent map adds common chat shorthand like 'lol' and 'omg' on top.
Does it search in both English and Korean?
Yes. The index merges English annotations (emojibase en + emojilib) and Korean annotations (emojibase ko), so 'dog' and the Korean word for dog both work in the same search box. You can mix languages.
What is the combine basket?
It lets you collect several symbols into one line — like ˗ˏˋ ★ ˎˊ˗ — and copy them together to make your own divider or decoration. Turn on the 'Combine' button, tap symbols to add them, and type your own text or spaces too. Normally a tap copies the symbol immediately.
A copied symbol shows as a box (□) in Instagram or a game.
That means the platform or device font doesn't support that glyph, so it renders as tofu (□) or a blank. Emoji and basic symbols are widely supported, but rare decorative characters and some kaomoji can look different on Android, iOS and desktop, so it's safest to preview where you'll paste. Blank-nickname space characters are allowed differently per platform.
Are my favorites or searches uploaded?
No. Search, copy and combine all run in your browser, and favorites and recent items are stored only in your device's localStorage. The emoji data (about 370KB) is downloaded once on load with no further external calls.
Do you have fancy fonts like 𝓢𝓬𝓻𝓲𝓹𝓽?
Fancy font styles (Bold, Script, Mono and other Unicode font conversions) live in the SNS text formatter tool. This tool is a picker for symbols, emoji and dividers — a different job from converting your own sentence into a fancy font.
